Michelin sits at the premium end of what is sold in Pakistan, and the case for it is long-term rather than immediate. Its ranges are generally engineered to hold their performance as the tread wears down — a characteristic that matters far more in real ownership than a first-fit test number, because you spend most of a tyre's life in its second half.

The other thing you are buying is refinement. On a long motorway run the difference between a premium and a mid-tier tyre shows up as noise and fatigue more than as outright grip. If you regularly drive Islamabad to Lahore, that is not a trivial difference.

It is genuinely not the right purchase for everyone. If a car does 8,000 km a year in city traffic, the premium is hard to recover before the tyre ages out — rubber degrades with time and heat as well as with mileage, and a five-year-old tyre with tread left on it is still a five-year-old tyre.
