Buying 17 Inch Alloy Rims in Islamabad
Seventeen inch spans two quite different jobs: a styling and handling upgrade on a Civic or Altis, and the factory size on the Sportage, Tucson and Fortuner. The difference matters, because a rim designed for a sedan is not necessarily rated for the load an SUV puts through it.
Rim load rating is the specification almost nobody asks about and everybody should. Alloy rims carry a maximum load stamped or documented per wheel, and fitting a lightweight sedan-rated rim to a two-tonne Fortuner is a genuine structural risk, not a technicality. We check the rating against your vehicle before selling, every time, and we will refuse the sale if it does not match.
On a sedan, 17 inch is about as far as we would recommend going for a car used daily in Islamabad. The sidewall on a 17-inch setup is short enough that a deep pothole can bend the rim, and our service roads supply plenty of those. It looks excellent and it steers beautifully — just be realistic about where you drive. Every rim we fit is balanced and torqued to spec, we check the offset on the ramp, and we will re-check the torque free after a few hundred kilometres.

Do I need new tyres if I move up to 17-inch rims?
Yes. A 17-inch rim needs a 17-inch tyre with a lower profile, chosen so the overall wheel diameter stays within about 3% of the original. That keeps the speedometer and ABS calibration accurate. We work out the correct size when you buy the rims.
Are 17-inch rims a good idea on Islamabad roads?
They look good and sharpen steering, but the shorter tyre sidewall absorbs less of a pothole, so rim damage is more likely than on 15- or 16-inch wheels. For a daily car on rough roads, 16 inches is often the better balance.
