Wheel alignment sets the angles at which your wheels meet the road. When those angles drift out of the manufacturer's specification — which happens gradually with every pothole and kerb — the tyres are dragged slightly sideways as the car moves forward. You feel it as a pull to one side or an off-centre steering wheel, and you pay for it in tyre life.

Our 3D alignment rig measures camber, caster and toe on all four wheels simultaneously and compares them against the stored figures for your exact model. That comparison is the part that matters: alignment is not a judgement call, it is a measurement against a number the manufacturer published. We show you the readings before we touch anything, and again afterwards.

Most cars in Islamabad need alignment more often than the service book suggests, simply because of the roads. If you have hit a bad pothole, fitted new tyres, or had any suspension work done, it is worth checking. It is a cheap job that protects an expensive set of tyres.

Signs to look for

Do you need Wheel Alignment?

If any of these sound like your car, it is worth having us check it.

  • The car pulls to one side on a flat, straight road
  • The steering wheel is off-centre when you are driving straight
  • One edge of a front tyre is wearing noticeably faster than the rest
  • The steering feels vague, or does not self-centre after a turn
  • You have just fitted new tyres, or hit a serious pothole
  • Any suspension or steering component has been replaced

Our process

How City Wheels does Wheel Alignment

Every step, and why it matters — so you can tell whether anyone else is skipping one.

  1. 01

    Inspection first

Before anything is measured we check the suspension and steering for play — worn track rod ends, tired bushes or a bad wheel bearing. Aligning a car with a worn component is pointless, because the geometry will not hold. If we find something, we will tell you before charging you for an alignment that will not last.

  2. 02

    Mount the targets

Reflective targets are clamped to all four wheels and the car is rolled through a short compensation routine so the rig can cancel out any wheel or clamp runout. This is the step careless shops skip, and it is why their numbers do not repeat.

  3. 03

    Measure and show you

The rig reports camber, caster, toe and thrust angle against your model's specification. Green is in spec, red is out. We bring you to the screen and show you the reds before we start adjusting.

  4. 04

    Adjust

Toe is adjustable on virtually every car; camber and caster on some. We set what is adjustable to the middle of the specified range rather than the edge of it, so the car stays in spec longer as things settle.

  5. 05

    Verify and print

A final measurement confirms every angle is in spec, and you leave with the printout. Keep it — it is the reference point if anything changes later.

Typically 30–45 minutes — and we are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

I had an excellent experience with CITY WHEELS - TYRE & ALLOY RIMS and would highly recommend them. My tyre burst on the night of 13th August, and since it was around 2 AM, I couldn't find any shop open or a replacement tyre available. I contacted Zeeshan, the owner, and he went above and beyond by personally coming to the shop and opening it specifically to help me. He arranged a replacement tyre, managed the fitting, and even provided complimentary wheel balancing. Everything was handled extremely efficiently and professionally despite the late hour. Really appreciate Zeeshan's dedication and willingness to help when I was genuinely stuck. Excellent customer service and a very positive experience. Highly recommended!

Questions

Wheel Alignment — answered

How often should I get a wheel alignment in Pakistan?

Every 10,000 km or every six months is a sensible interval on Pakistani roads, and immediately after fitting new tyres, hitting a bad pothole, or having suspension work done. Road surfaces here knock alignment out faster than the intervals in most owner's manuals assume, because those intervals were written for smoother roads.

What is the difference between wheel alignment and wheel balancing?

They fix different problems. Alignment corrects the angles at which the wheels point, and fixes pulling, off-centre steering and uneven tyre wear. Balancing corrects weight distribution around a spinning wheel, and fixes vibration at speed. A car can need one, the other, or both — and being sold one when you needed the other is the most common way people waste money on this.

Can bad alignment damage my tyres?

Yes, and quickly. A car that is meaningfully out of toe drags its tyres sideways every metre it travels. The classic sign is a feathered or sharply worn inner or outer shoulder while the rest of the tread still looks fine. A set of tyres that should last four years can be ruined in one.

Do I need an alignment after fitting new tyres?

It is strongly recommended. New tyres will not fix a geometry problem — they will simply start wearing in the same wrong pattern as the old ones from the first kilometre. Checking alignment at the same time as fitting costs very little and protects the tyres you have just paid for.

How long does a wheel alignment take?

Usually 30 to 45 minutes for a normal car, assuming nothing seized or worn turns up during the inspection. We will tell you before starting if we expect it to take longer.
