Alloy Rims for Honda City

The Honda City uses a 4x100 bolt pattern — four studs on a 100 mm circle — which it shares with a large number of small Japanese and Korean cars. That is good news for choice: 4x100 is one of the best-supplied patterns in the aftermarket, so there is real variety in finish and design rather than three options and a compromise.

For a City the practical sizes are 15 and 16 inch. Fifteens keep a sensible sidewall and are the safer everyday choice on our roads. Sixteens look considerably better and sharpen the steering, but you will feel more of the road surface and you need to be more careful around kerbs and broken tarmac. Going beyond 16 on a City is a styling decision rather than a driving one, and we will say so.

Offset for the City typically runs in the +38 to +45 range. Get it wrong and the symptoms are specific and annoying: rubbing at full lock, or a wheel that sits visibly inboard. Bring the car in — checking the fit properly takes us a few minutes on the ramp and saves a return trip. Every rim we sell is fitted, balanced and torqued to spec, and we will re-check the torque after a few hundred kilometres if you bring it back.
