13 Inch Alloy Rims

Thirteen-inch alloys are the entry point for small cars — the Alto, older Cultus, Mehran and Bolan. On a car this size the upgrade from a steel wheel is more than cosmetic: a good alloy stays true better after a kerb strike, dissipates brake heat more effectively, and is usually lighter, which an 800cc engine genuinely notices.

That last point is the one to be careful about. Not every alloy is lighter than the steel wheel it replaces — a cheap, heavily cast design can be heavier, and the extra unsprung weight will make a small car feel marginally slower and use a little more fuel. We will tell you what a rim weighs before you buy it rather than let you discover it afterwards.

Thirteen inch also keeps the sidewall tall, which on Pakistani roads is a real advantage. A 155/65 R13 has around 100 mm of sidewall between the rim and the road, and that is what absorbs the pothole that would crack a rim on a lower-profile setup. For a car that lives in the city, that protection is worth more than the appearance of a bigger wheel. Every rim we sell is fitted, balanced and torqued to specification, and we will re-check the torque free after a few hundred kilometres.
