155/65 R13 is the size most older Suzuki Cultus variants run, and it is a frequent upgrade from 145/70 R12 on the Alto because the extra 10 mm of tread width measurably improves braking on wet roads without hurting economy much. The 13-inch rim keeps replacement cost low, which matters on a car where a full set of four should not cost more than a service.

This size sits in a useful middle ground. There is still enough sidewall — roughly 101 mm — to absorb a pothole without immediately damaging the rim, but the contact patch is wide enough that the car no longer feels nervous under braking. It is the size we most often recommend for a Cultus that is used for daily commuting rather than intercity running.

One thing worth knowing before you buy: 13-inch tyres are gradually being squeezed out of the premium brands' ranges globally, so the choice here is broader among value and mid-tier makers than it is among the premium names.
